The expresion "The apple doesn't fall far from the tree" is so true, yet so untrue for this Harvard graduate. The estranged son of Victor Newman and the late Hope Wilson, Adam Newman caused trouble for most of the Newman family from the moment he first arrived. Adam first showed up shortly after his mother died. He was welcomed with open arms by his father. But once it was thought that Victor had died, Adam's greed got the better of him. He took over Newman Enterprises and changed things for the worse. He even moved himself and Heather Stevens into Victor's house. However, his glory didn't last long, as he was quickly banished from the Newman household and fired from his job once Victor returned. Adam then teamed up with Jack Abbott to frame Victor for murder. However, the plan backfired and Adam was arrested for his actions. After spending time in prison, Adam started going blind. This has prompted Victor to get Adam released into his custody so he can help take care of him.
