Cane Ashby never knew his biological mother growing up. He was switched at birth by his grandmother, Katherine
Chancellor. Cane was raised in Australia by his uncle and a foster mother named Violet. Once Cane returned to Genoa City in search of his real mother, he was able to find her after beginnng a relationship with Amber Moore. Amber later tricked Cane into thinking they were married, by getting him so drunk that he couldn't remember. After it was revealed that
the marriage was a fake, Cane put a stop to the marriage. He unfortunately suffered a similar fate again when Chloe Mitchell tricked him into thinking they had made love, also by getting him wasted with alcohol. Chloe became pregnant with Cane's brother Billy's baby, but convinced Cane it was actually his....thus ending Cane's engagement to Lily Winters. Cane recently discovered the truth and is determined to fight to keep Chloe's baby, as he feels Billy and Chloe are unfit parents.
