Today Nina and Katherine continue to discuss Cane and Phillip and Nina is convinced that Cane is a fake. Jill joins the discussion and does her usual stuff with Nina but Nina finally tells Katherine and Jill that she’s going to have Phillip’s body exhumed. Jill tells her she doesn’t understand and Jill says no she doesn’t understand. Cane overhears this conversation and Katherine finally ends up hollering at Cane it’s best if he leaves it’s the best way to handle it so he goes. Not before he does his usual Mommy if you need me stuff. Jill informs Nina there has already been an exhumation of the body. Nina confides that when Phillip joined the military that he had symptoms that individually meant nothing probably but together he could have Huntington’s disease. He will lose his mind eventually and the disease takes over his body. Nobody in her family or her (Nina) has the gene but she needs to exhume Phillip’s body to see if he has it or in her case whoever is in the grave has it. Jill is much nicer to Nina at this point and says she had them save everything from the first exhumation in case they needed more information so it’s all there and it will be easy enough for Nina to get the information she needs from the lab. Nina calls the lab and they tell her they have no information in the computer and no information on a hardcopy on a test on a Phillip Chancellor. Jill and Katherine seem stunned by this news. Nina is devastated.
Billy is at the club with Raul and they discuss how Raul and Mac got together. They are going to shoot hoops today. But Mac calls and wants to see Billy and Billy tells him to go. Raul tells Mac Billy’s just bailed so he’ll be right there. Mac tells Raul she hasn’t been totally honest with him. Raul tells her that Chloe had called her and when Mac questions that he tells her that her and Chloe live in the same house and she probably sees things that made her think that she knew what Mac was feeling and she needed him. Mac wants to give his ring back and sensing that Raul tells her don’t. Just wear the ring. They can move slow they are in no hurry but to please wear the ring. So she keeps the ring.
Meantime Billy calls Chloe and wants to see her. I think he said he’d called three times and Chloe tells him it’s the first time she answered him. So he says he wants to see her and Delia and after she finishes up her important research work she tells Billy she’ll be there. Which is drinking coffee and eating a big brownie at the coffeehouse. Earlier Mac and Chloe had a conversation and Chloe tells Mac nobody will ever change Billy and he’s not going to change so she needs to keep that in mind. She does confess that she called Raul. Both to Mac and to Billy. But she’s not so easy with Billy this time. She says they need to set visitation and Billy tells her that sounds formal. Chloe doesn’t bend one inch. She says she’s serious and they need to do this so Billy says OK they’ll do it. He’s talking to Delia like he does when he’s trying to win Chloe over. Talking to Chloe through the baby but it doesn’t help his cause with Chloe. Neither does Mac walking in. She puts her ring back on before she hits Billy and Mac’s table. She says she needs to go exercise.
Victor busts Adam wide open on him being the one that has been gas lighting Ashley. Of course Adam is in complete denial. He tells Victor that Estella was there today and Victor says so Estella set you up. Adam says he doesn’t know who it is but it’s not him. And he’s blind and the baby recorder was found outside. Victor informs him he could have had help. Who asks Adam or you mean Heather he says. Well Victor doesn’t say Heather Adam does. But I would guess Heather is now a suspect too. But Adam’s just using her too. Anyway Ashley joins the conversation and verifies that’s the voice she’s been hearing and Adam explains he opened an email and maybe he got a virus or something and that voice just came out of there. Part of the setup of course. Victor grabs the computer and looks. He warns Adam if he’s the one who has been gas lighting Ashley he will be better off or wish he was back in jail. Needless to say Victor is not happy and Adam says so you have expected me all along. Victor doesn’t really answer that but Adam appeals to Ashley telling her he’d never do anything to hurt her. Ashley wants to believe him but this evidence is pretty overwhelming. Adam is off the hook for now there is no real proof of what happened so he’s fooled Victor for this time. Or he thinks he has anyway.
Later Adam has his rubber gloves back on and he’s on his way out the window of his room again. Who knows what he is up to. Victor hasn’t called out the troops obviously, to guard the ranch, but I am pretty sure he has by now. I hope Adam is as slick as he thinks because I am pretty sure Victor is watching him like a hawk now. Victor doesn’t appear to believe him but you can tell he wants to believe him. Right before Adam is sneaking around in his room, he over hears a conversation between Ashley and Victor discussing his possible involvement. I thought Adam might remove all his surveillance equipment. I’d think that Victor would have taken his computer in order to check it out more thoroughly. But for now everything is as it has been. Is this the calm before the storm or has Adam really fooled Victor. I’d bet on the calm before the storm because Victor is nobody’s fool. And God help Adam when Victor catches him.
Lily and Cane are practicing for making the baby at the bar. Lily tells him she’s glad they have a couch in there it was a good idea. They discuss having children but Lily still doesn’t tell Cane about her abnormal pap smear. She seems to be playing the game of them having a family. Earlier Cane had actually played basketball with Billy and Lily told him it nice to have a brother and other family since they didn’t have their own right now. She does say even if they are a little nutty at times. Cane grumbles something about his family to change that subject.
NEXT ON THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS:
Cane tells Lily he just wants her to know that he’s so happy and he just doesn’t want to lose her. Lily says why do you think that you would?
Nina tells Jill that somebody obviously doesn’t want us to know who is really buried in Phillip’s grave as Katherine looks on and turns her head away as Nina says that.
Nick tells an upset Phyllis that Sharon and him will be looking for a new house together. Phyllis exhales as though she might cry or scream or something. Obviously this news hurts. But as she exhales she manages to cover with a smile.
