Gloria called the bank and is having her diamonds delivered by bonded private messenger. Jeff who comes by to get his passport tells her he's leaving. Then a FAX comes in and he wants to know what she is hiding. He leaves but is suspicious and comes back later and bribes a maid into letting him into the room. Should I say sweet talks her. Anyway it doesn't appear that he finds what he is looking for but on the way out he runs into Alistair. Who tells him if he's looking for dirt on his ex-wife this might be his lucky day. Alistair is now back at the Club compliments of Jill. He tells Jill about the diamonds and she demands more.
Cane tells Chloe that if what happened between them was nothing why does she feel the need to hide it from Lily. This is after he had her go through what she remembered from her little drunken night before. She names all the stuff she did and then says oh and did I kiss you? Cane taunts her for awhile about this and even asks her in front of Lily if she told her. She blew it off on two occasions. Finally Cane nails her and tells her that we didn't do anything that she did. He accuses her of trying to pull something and warns her he don't chuck easily and next time she's feeling bi-coastal (she said in California everyone kisses friends and girlfriends and boyfriends) so she best show Lily some respect. And reminds her she is an employee of this company and she says you aren't going to fire me. He tells her Devon was right about her, she's bossy and self-absorbed and high maintenance. Get your act together baby he warns. Someday you might piss off someone not as forgiving as I am. Later Chloe gets a company to call Lily and offer to be her agent and invite her to New York. Not sure what was up with that but she got it done and she looked might happy about it. Lily was elated since Nikki had called her in over the RS Cover not being her. She said she would get compensation from Restless Style for the back end. Lily apologized for not being good enough for the cover and costing Jabot so much money. Chloe did have her a photo shoot and Nikki was pleased with the pictures and took them to the art dept. Later Chloe is coming in the office and Cane and Jill are just ending their meeting and Jill tells Cane it's never easy to fire someone when he mentions he's handling the Houston call. Chloe seemed to take this in.
All kinds of happenings with Nikki and David. He gives her a souvenir from Mexico. The coins from their wedding. Nikki gives him a high dollar watch that he keeps taking off like he's going to hock it at any minute. He might have to. Brad spent the day breathing down both their necks ( he told them All play and no work makes for red ink when he found them kissing) but pressing David for the money he owes him. Brad tells David to check with Heather for the legal information on some deal. And then he talks about this new Malaysian contract that there was a dispute and they couldn't be reached and there was a huge salary adjustment and David and Nikki are both upset. David informs them they were unavailable. He tells them he's C-O-O and he made the decision. And it was the right one. Nikki said Brad in shock like when he told her they want 12 cents more and Jabot offered 8 cents so he cut the difference to save the contract and gave them 10 cents. Nikki says they aren't done with this but she needs to take this call. David tells Brad that was an obvious power play. Brad says it wasn't but if he had a mind to pull a power play he had all the cards. And David was in no position to question anything that he did. Nikki asks David how it went with Brad and he says he was working hard to justify what he did and that he was his boss not the other way around. David is heard talking to someone on the phone about his credit card being canceled. He tells them he will have the money to them by the end of the week. Him and his wife just got married and were combining their accounts. He also told Brad that ring was a family heirloom and Brad wanted to know what it was worth. David said he didn't know but he would appreciate it if he didn't make anymore cracks to his wife about the ring. He had earlier in the office. That explains why he told Nikki that so Brad didn't find out he charged it on his credit card instead of paying him his weekly payment. Brad mentions to David that he knew he was good for the loan now since he had a very rich wife. And had Nikki put him on the joint account yet and he adds she didn't make you sign a pre-nup right and David says no. But Brad has planted a seed. David pretends to be on the phone with the people for the wedding and says he'll get a check out right away. This was for Nikki's benefit who says I thought we'd pay for the wedding together. He says OK and they can get a joint account and she says no need for a joint account in this day and age. I'll just write you a check. David looks miserable at that thought. (And who goes to Mexico and gets to pay later for their wedding. You usually pay up front right)? Only on soaps.
