Patty Williams is a fictional character in the American soap opera The Young and the Restless, portrayed by actress Lilibet Stern from 1980 to 1983 and by Andrea Evans from 1983 to 1984 and is now currently potrayed by Stacy Haiduk in 2009 under the alias of Mary Jane Benson, which will be revealed on July 2 , 2009.

In the early 1980s, Patty fell in love with Jabot heir Jack Abbott (Terry Lester), much to her parents' disapproval. A jealous Jill Foster (then played by Deborah Adair) then confessed to Patty that she and Jack had been secret lovers. A furious Jack fired Jill from Jabot. Patty then accepted a date from Danny Romalotti (Michael Damian).
Patty eventually left Danny and became involved with Jack. Patty's father, Carl (Brett Hadley), tried to break up the union, and Jack retaliated by marrying Patty. Patty soon became suspicious that Jack was only interested in her for sex. Jack, meanwhile, began seeing Diane Jenkins (Alex Donnelley) behind Patty's back. When Patty caught Jack and Diane together in his office, she was so traumatized that she tripped over a plant in the lobby and miscarried. When Patty recovered, she told Jack she wanted another child. Later she overheard Jack telling Jill (then Brenda Dickson) of his plans to have a vasectomy, and that he only married Patty so that his father John (Jerry Douglas) would make him president of Jabot. This sent Patty over the edge and she arrived at Jack's office with a loaded gun to kill herself in front of Jack. Jack admitted to Patty that he had been cruel to her, and begged her not to shoot herself, but to shoot him. Patty shot Jack three times.
Patty temporarily lost all memory of the shooting. Jack survived and was paralyzed in a hospital bed for some time. Patty's father Carl was the police detective in charge of finding Jack's attacker and became convinced Jill had done it; only Jack knew that Patty had shot him. After the truth finally came out, Jack refused to press charges, and Patty later divorced Jack and left town.

Patty returns to town in 2009, operating under the alias Mary Jane Benson, with help from Victor Newman (Eric Braeden). Mary Jane undergoes plastic surgery, paid for by Victor, in order to infiltrate Jabot and get close to Jack (now played by Peter Bergman). She manages to seduce him after he separates from his ex-wife, Sharon Newman (Sharon Case), and they form a no-strings-attached sexual relationship. When Jack briefly reunites with Sharon, she verbally lashes out at her in public but manages to fake indifference about the new development in front of Jack. Victor ends his plans with her, making himself her enemy. Paul Williams, Patty's brother, becomes suspicious of Mary Jane, believing they met before. He begins looking into her past and finds out that all of her information was created a few months prior. After losing Sharon again, Jack has sex with Phyllis Summers Newman (Michelle Stafford), which Mary Jane witnesses. She gets Jack into bed with her again, but he continues to see their relationship as nothing serious.
