YEAR	MILESTONES
March 26, 1973	The Young and the Restless premieres with the Brooks and Foster families in Genoa City, Wisconsin. These families were different than the ones now. The Brooks' were newspaper types...with rich daughters...Leslie, Laurie and Chris and Peggy...The Fosters were Mrs. Foster who worked as the Brooks housekeeper I believe, with daughter Jill, the manicurist and two sons. Snapper, a Dr. played by William Grey Espy and Greg, a lawyer. Snapper and Chris were married. Leslie was a concert pianist. Laurie was an author and wrote a book about her relationship with her famous sister, Leslie. The book caused Leslie to have a breakdown -- PLUS Leslie's husband was really in love with Laurie. Jill was Mrs Chancellor's Manicurist and worked in her mansion. She was the daughter of one of her maids in the mansion Mrs Foster. Jill got money hungry when she started coming in to visit Mrs Chancellor who was also a drunk at the time. Jill was able to take advantage of her and she seduced her husband. Fell in love with him and made she she got pregnant. Mr Chancellor was killed in a car accident while argueing with his wife over a divorce. She did not know she was her daughter at the time adopted by the Fosters.
1980-1981	Victor and Julia came into the show. She was the 1st Mrs. Newman. Victor feared she was in love with another man, a man Victor hired to paint a portrait of her. He had that man and Julia locked in a dungeon under his house. Victor was sooo evil ! He even had a young Paul feeding Michael (the photographer) dead rats. Victor pushed Julia down the stairs as one point...he was very evil in those days. Must be where Paul came up for the idea to lock Sheila in the cage, oh yeah, Brad had a crazy woman lock him in one for a long time too....but that was a few years later. I don't remember Julia being locked in the "dungeon" I remeber the dungeon in Victor house,and The man locked up was Brock Reynolds (Katerine Chancellor) son.Julia was never locked up ! She was however pregant,and Victor though that her and Brock had anfair because he had secertly got a vesicotomy.he had cameras hiden all over and Julia found one and seen Brock who had been missing for along time.she was very upset with Victor.and somewhere along the way had fallen down the stairs.I think she lost the baby ! but I'm not sure.I do rember her going away and staring a perfume company.Who Know for sure there may still be another Newmen out there and it would be much older than Victoria & Nickolas.and I do not remember any rats. I remember the lover being locked up but not Julia. I do not remember Paul feeding the guy dead rats - probably a good thing. As memory serves me from waaay back then, after Victor married Nikki he got the wandering eye and fell in love with young Ashley Abbott, who worked as a chemist for her father's business Jabot as a perfume designer. Victor was so taken with her he started an affair with her and decided if he could keep her in the basement of his mansion Nikki would not know, Nikki would just think it is a wine storage basement. When Ashley tried to break up with him he tricked her an put her in a dungeon like cell room in the basement. He hid her down there for months (story line was forever then around 1980 and no one know where she was all this time. This was long after he married Nikki and Julia was long gone. Yes, Paul did take her meals he was a teenager then. Paul's dad was a police chief and had no idea. He did figure out how to get her out of this mess. Even after she escaped Ashley still continued having an affair with Victor and his money. This is why Nikki and Ashley never got along. Victor has truly only loved Nikki, Ashley, Hope and now Sabrina, Julia was a mistake and no flame in his heart for her. Paul had been taking meals to Julia while she was locked up in the basement cell. He figured out the secret code to unlock the cell and freed her. Does anyone remember what the code was? Was it a wedding date, birthday, etc? After she was freed, she and Victor were divorced and she fled to Paris to build her own business. I think it was a perfume business, but am not sure.
???	I don't remember the year but Nikkie had to face her father who had sexually abused her. That's when her and Paul were friends. I also remember the early years with the Brooks and the Fosters the two sisters battled all the time over the same man. There also was a time when Pauls family played a huge part of the day time drama, his Dad being a cop and his mom the perfect mother. I also remeber when Lauren and Paul were married the first time and when lauren was buried alive and Paul had to save her. Paul is always coming to the rescue. Jills adobted mother worked for Kay as a housekeeper, that is back when Jill was evil. I also remember when Tracy Abbott got picked on so bad about her wieght by Lauren, Food fight at the fast food joint
November 15, 1987	The first time i looked at Yand R !! Asley lost her baby (Victor is the father , but he is yet married to Nikki !!) She 's so depressed that she lost her memory !! she is alone in an awful psychiatric hospital and she can't remember her name !! All the Abbot family is looking for her . Catherine and Jill , not yet mother and daughter ..., are fighting to keep the young Philip Chancellor, 2nd of the name .
FALL 1984	Victoria was born.She has the same birthday as my daughter. Funny thing is, she and Nick in real life are the same age as both of my kids, BUT on the show are in their late 20's to early 30's.
	I don't remember the years but I can fill in a lot of missing stuff. Back when the Brooks and Fosters were still in the story another set of brothers appeared. Lance and Lucas Prentiss. Lance now plays Eric Forester on B & B...Laurie Brooks fell for him. Chris Brooks married Dr. Snapper Foster and it seems like Leslie, the concert pianist ended up with Lucas. Lucas was a merchant marine type. Lance and Lucas had a mother who always wore a veil due an extreme burn. I don't remember her name in the show but much later the same actress ended up playing John Abbott's first wife Dina.
Victor Jr. is the son of Hope and Victor in Kansas	Victor also has a son by another woman, named Christian. The paternity I don't remember if it was actually his, but I remember it being in question. Whatever happened to Victors trusted English friend Douglas??? Character Douglas Austin died in real life Sept 2007. Victor has a son with Hope. She was the blind woman from Kansas who he stayed with when he up and left everyone. I thought they got married but am not sure. I do not know his name. He is the son Victor went to find when he LEFT Nikki after Nicolas supposedly died.
	I don't remember when the Abbotts appeared, but I do remember Jack being involved with Paul's younger sister Patti...she shot him when she caught him messing around with Diane. Paul also had a brother, but I don't even remember his name...he and Patti just seemed to disappear. One thing I don't like about Y & R...characters just disappear with no reason..Paul and Nikki were "friends" when they were young....now something else I don't "get" with Paul being such a "good" guy WHY did he allow his daughter to stay with April is such a bad relationship. April was a real bad thing, like "Chloe" is today. She tricked Paul and got pregnant, she wasn't pretty like Lauren and she had her baby out of wedlock. She dreamed of the days she would united with him. She was a sourpuss and need to leave. She worked her way into the lives of everyone.They made an agreement for Paul not to see his daughter. They were reunited last year now she is a grown woman, April has never returned since, only spoken to on the phone.
	Paul's brother became a priest. He has come back 1 time for sure maybe twice.
	Nikki was married to Greg Foster at one time too if my memory serves me right
	After Nikki was married to Greg Foster, she married Kevin Bancroft and let him believe her daughter, Victoria, was his child, when she was in reality, Victor's. As for "disappearing" cast members, what ever happened to Nikki's sister, Dr. Casey Reid?
1990's	Sheila Carter is introduced as a nurse at GC Memoria Hospital. Kimberlin Brown started as a day player with no contract and was so popular, the show beefed up her part and gave her that contract. Sheila had an obsessive crush on Laurens then-husband, Scott Grainger. Lauren got pregnant, Sheila got Scott to sleep with her and got pregnant at the same time as Lauren. Sheila's baby died at birth so she switched her baby with Lauren's living child (who later became Scotty). Sheila kept the baby for at least a year before Lauren realized the truth and confronted her. Sheila trapped her own mother, Molly and Lauren together in a burning house and escaped with Scotty only to give the child back knowing she could not keep up the charade. Sheila ultimately got away from Genoa City and moved to Los Angeles, CA where she became a character on "The Bold and the Beautiful." Kimberlin Brown created one of the most brilliant, vicious villians ever in the history of daytime and after all the trouble she has caused, Sheila will be back.
1990's	John and Mamie Kiss! The show got national headlines
???	I remember when the Foster & Brooks were on the show too. It seems to me that Jill worked as a companion or something to Catherine Chancellor. Catherine had a bad drinking problem and a hot husband (Phillip) that she couldn't keep satisfied. She was to interested in her bottle. So along comes Jill. And low and behold her and Phillip have a thing going. I really believe Philip loved Jill. Anyway Jill gets knocked up - and Phillip asks Catherine for a divorce. I remember them being in a car. Seems like Catherine had been drinking - her and Phillip were arguing about Jill and the divorce. Catherine grabbed the wheel - and they were in a wreck. Of course Phillip is killed. Jill has to bear the child alone - never getting to marry the love of her life. This insued an angry fued between Catherine and Jill for years. Of course Jill tried to get some of Phillips money (she was very poor). Cathrine fought her tooth and nail. How tragic it was that years later Phillip Junoir would be killed in an accident - because of his drinking problem. Any of you remember any of this? Do any of you remember Catherine's odd son Brock? Who pops in every 10 year or so? It was about the time Phillip jr was 10 or so that Jill meet John Abbott. She and Phiilp Jr. were living with her Mother (who later turned out to be her step mother). I think at first she saw John Abbott as a means out of her poverty. She sent little Phillip off to military school or boarding school. Whatever they called it. So he would be out of the way - and her and John could go off un hindered. Eventually she really did let herself love again. Her and John Abbott have been one of the super couples of the show. Okay - I could go one forever. I been watching this show along time.
	Do any of you remember Nikki's sister Casey???? She was not on the story very long. She was a redhead.
1990's	Does anybody remember when Victoria and Ryan eloped much to the dismay of Victor. They eventually got the marriage annulled because she just wasn't ready to have sex and he went back to Nina and married Nina. He had been dating Nina first and dumped her for Vicki. This happened around the same time the Victor was with Ashley.
1990's	Does anyone remember when Victoria dated Neil? In fact, I think they even got engaged.
1990's	What about when Dru was all drugged up on cold medicine and thought it was her hubby Neil making love to her, only to find out it was her brother-in-law Malcolm.. and then she found out she was pregnant and never told Neil until recently!
early 2000's?	Ryan and Victoria's wedding being crashed by his crazy ex-wife who shot and killed him while they were standing at the altar.
1990's	Who could forget Blade? Ashley was married to photograher Blade, who had an evil twin who came to town and even slipped into bed with Ash!
2008	David Chow killed Ji-min.

looking for help n a history moment concening a former nikki's husband (page: 1 2)

can u historians of this show help me? not sure what yr(n early 90's perhaps)when nikki was married to this lovely blonde hair, blue eyes babe, n this storyline, this man(one of nikki's former husbands)had an x wife who was n a mental hospital that got released, and when she learned this man remarried to nikki, this woman went to g.c. as disguised a new housekeeper to spy working along side w/ miguel, pretended to like miguel, then later n this storyline, this woman shoots nikki and nikki's husband n their bedroom, the husband didn't make it, nikki went n 2 a coma and while n this coma, she dreamed about wanting to follow her dead husband at same time heard victor's voice calling her back, and again b4 this husband and nikki were shot, there was a time when nikki as trying to choose between victor and this other man, what was the characters name?i also can't remember who the actor was, but was a popular one from a tv show or movie, does anyone out there remember any of this, please let me know.
