Remember when Sharon kissed Victor (eew) I forgot about that until i seen it on YouTube :)
What was the name of Victor's best friend? What was his best friend's girlfriends name? Douglas
Cane(DAR) Did anyone else realize he played BeastMaster in 2002?
Patty shot Jack while he was having sex in his office with Diane Jenkins. After shooting jack she ran out of the office.

Paul Williams had a sister named Patty who was married to Jack which she left him b/c he had a vasectomy. So the question is how does he have a son with Diane, and whatever happened to Patty?

I don't remember Jack ever having a vasectomy (although Victor has had at least one and had it reversed.) Patty left Jack (at least the way I remember it) because she realized he really was the philanderer that her family had tried to tell her he was. At some point Patty found out that Jack slept with Diane on the morning of his wedding to Patty. Later, Patty became pregnant (by Jack.) She caught Jack and Diane having sex, ran out of his office in horror and tripped on a potted plant. She miscarried and then later divorced Jack. Danny Romalotti (who had loved Patty for years) and Patty attempted to make a go of a relationship but it just wasn't meant to be... Patty then left Genoa City.

I remember when Jack had the vasectomy and I never remember him having it reversed, so that was always a lingering question as to how he continued to have kids...
I also remember when Kate Chancelor was such a bad alcoholic and ran off the cliff and killed her husband Phillip who was in love with Jill. And remember when Jill had Philip Jr. I always hated his character was killed on the show. He and Cristine or Cricket as she was called then were a couple.
Does anyone remember the Christine "Cricket" and Nina episodes? How about when Nina gave birth to a son and Sally (God Bless her (she's passed now)), had Nina sign papers which really gave Sally rights to have Nina's son "adopted." I'd really miss Nina and would love to have her back in a storyline and have her child on "all grown up" of course.. like maybe JT would be the son or someone like that... Hope I remembered all of that correctly. I've been watching Y&R since the beginning (when I was a child and my mom watched it). Well, let me know if anyone remembers these episodes. HNY!
I cannot remember a time in my life when I didn't watch Y&R with my Mom or Grandma. And yes, I remember so many great story lines from in the past.
  • The show was originally going to be called "The Innocent Years."
Does anyone remember when Jill was married to John. She had an affair with Jack and she shot him. I think he was threatening to tell his Dad but not 100% on that.
  • Y&R was created by William J. Bell and Lee Phillip Bell, who set their show in a fictional version of Genoa City, Wisconsin, a town near their annual vacation home in Lake Geneva.
  • Y&R was the first US soap and daytime program to be broadcast in HDTV.
  • Jeanne Cooper is the only member of the cast who has been with the show since 1973. But interesting enough, she didn't join the cast until 6 months after it premiered.
So no original cast member remains on the show today.
  • As of September 17, 2007, the Young and the Restless has aired 8,728 episodes.
  • The Young and the Restless or Y&R as most of its fan tends to call it is a very popular American television soap opera, first broadcast on CBS on March 26, 1973.
  • Boobsy Caswell was Col. Austin's girlfriend (and I didn't have to look it up to remember). :>)
  • Since Y&R debut in 1973 the song "Nadia's Theme" has been the theme song. The melody, originally titled "Cotton's Dream", was written by Barry De Vorzon and Perry Botkin Jr.
  • The theme music was actually introduced in the 1971 movie Bless the Beasts and the Children. Cotton is the name of one of the characters.
  • ABC television network lent the music for Romanian gymnast Nadia Comaneci's performance during the 1976 Summer Olympics. Later the network renamed it "Nadia's Theme".
When Victor was holding Julia in a cell below their house, it was a young Paul Williams who brought her meals to her.
I remember when Victor was married to Julia. They just think he's ruthless now, back in the day he just locked you up and kept you in the basement!!!!!!!
When Victor was holding Michael prisoner in the cellar of his home with Julia, it was Paul Williams that brought him meals. Michael was the photographer that Julia was having an affair with.
I remember when Victor brought Michael a dead rat on a covered silver serving tray!
The code for the caged area where Michael was held captive was J-U-L-I-A, his wife's name.
Paul and Nikki appeared during the late 1970s... five or six years after the show began. They were not involved from the beginning of the show. In fact, Erica Hope (not Melody Thomas Scott) originated the role of Nikki Reed. Early storylines had Paul giving Nikki a venereal disease, Nikki in a cult, etc. One of Paul's first big storylines came circa 1979/1980 when he impregnated April Stevens -- Paul wasn't very responsible with April and baby Heather while Nikki's husband, Greg Foster (Jill's brother) wanted to marry and take care of them... as this story expanded Paul's family (and later April's) also expanded -- to include parents Carl and Mary, brother Steve, sister Patty, etc.
Does anyone remember when the show first started? David Hasslehoff was "Snapper" I think. --- David Hasselhoff, did play Snapper, but he didn't originate the role... William Gray Espy originated the role of William "Snapper" Foster, Jill's brother.
The theme song of the show, "Nadia's Theme," was also used a few years ago by Mary J. Blige. She sampled the tune for her big hit "No More Drama." The song is also used for many of the Y&R mash-up videos you see on YouTube.
In the late 1990's, Phyllis ran over Paul and Christine with a car injuring them both. Paul even ended up impotent for a while because of it causing a strain in his marriage to Christine. Phyllis was never caught and it remains an open case to this day.

Does anyone remeber the Brooks sisters and thier father?
I don't exactly remember the Brooks' father, but the sisters' names were Leslie who was a pianist and married to Lance who is currently Eric Forrester on B&B, Laurie, and I believe the youngest sister's name was Peggy. Jill's mother, Elizabeth, was married to Mr. Brooks at one time. And wasn't there a Chris Brooks who was married to Snapper Foster, Jill's brother?

Jennifer and Stuart Brooks were the parents of daughters Lori, Leslie Peggy and Chris.______________________________________________________________________

Yes, Lance was married to Leslie and Laurie, her no good sister stole Lance from her. Leslie was a sweet, decent woman. Jill has two brothers, Snapper & Greg. I think Leslie was also involved with Snapper. One or both of Jill's brothers were doctors. Nicki's older sister Casey, who was a doctor was involved with Snapper. When Nicki shot & killed her father who was molesting her, Casey took the rap. Their relationship must have ended sometime after. I can't remember if Casey went to jail or not.

There was another brother who lived on a boat.I can't remember his name but he was in love with Laurie. He was very scruffy and liked to drink.I think he was the oldest of the Foster children. Was his name Lucas?

Lance and Lucas were brothers, but they weren't at all related to the Fosters. Their last name was Prentiss. They had a domineering mother named Vanessa. Vanessa originally wore a veil over most of her face -- the result of having been burned in a fire. I believe that Lucas became a heavy drinker because he had a great deal of guilt; incorrectly thinking that he had caused his mother's disfiguration. Eventually Vanessa had surgery and her face was restored.

The four Ls (Lorie, Leslie, Lance, and Lucas) made up a quadrangle/merry-go-round for several years. Their story wound down in the early 1980s. Vanessa (who hated Lorie) found out she was dying and planned a suicide. However, she made it appear as if Lorie had murdered her (screaming and then jumping off of Lories' balcony)... little Brooks was even a witness -- he had heard the 'struggle' of Lorie and Vanessa (his grandmother!) --- at Vanessa's funeral Lucas was so dismayed that Lorie had the nerve to show up that he opened the closed casket and screamed at Lorie 'to 'look at what' she'd done.

During Lorie's trial (I think Peter Brown played her attorney and Liz Keifer played his daughter) the truth came out. Soon after Lucas, Lance, Leslie, and Brooks left Genoa City. A short time later Lorie also left.

If Casey did go to jail she didn't stay in for long. I don't remember the resolution to the story of Nikki killing Nick. However, I am pretty sure that Casey stayed around Genoa City for several more years after he was killed. Eventually she sort of faded into the woodwork while her portrayer (Roberta Leighton?) wound up on General Hospital. I also think (and again, I could be wrong) that for a time Roberta Leighton and David Hasselhoff were an item in real life.

By the way, I love that Casey has been mentioned periodically in the past year or two... unlike Keemo.

Lauren have Brad a massive heartattack when they slept together back in the day
___________________________________________________________________

Does anyone remember when the actor who plays Kevin played a gay character on Dawson's Creek?

alot of new babies are named usually after the mother's maiden name ie. Summer (phyllis summers newman),Fenmore (lauren fenmore baldwin), Ried (nikki reed newman(in this case the grandmothers maiden name))

Remember when Brads ex wife kidnapped him and locked him in the cage in her living room? It was Lauren and Jack who saved him.

I can remember years ago when Tom Sellecks was on the show as a Editor to the books that now I'm thinking who was it Tracey who was learning to write books or someone before that. I can remember him clear as day but not all the facts that go with it. Must have been Tracey, no going back further I think it was Laurie the Brooks girls I knew it was eons ago. Yes he was her book editor.I can remember all those days as I've watched it from the start. Here in Australia it was on late in the day when you had to pick the kids up from school, I hated that. I still watch it and love it also, I love the Aussie connection with Cane although they have Americanised him quite a bit , but I like it just the same.

Victor Newman-Victor originally came to Genoa City in 1979 to help Katherine Chancellor (Jeanne Cooper) with Chancellor Industries. He brought his wife Julia (Meg Bennett) with him, and kept her a recluse in their ranch house while he worked.
Longing for work, Julia took a modeling job with photographer Michael Scott, who was attracted to her. Victor became instantly jealous, and when Julia turned up pregnant, he was convinced that the baby was Michael's. In retaliation, Victor imprisoned Michael in the bomb shelter at the ranch. It was this story that turned Victor into a villain, a character type he has largely stayed true to over the course of two decades.
Julia found Michael and freed him from the bomb shelter. While attempting to flee the Newman Ranch, Victor happened upon the pair and a fist fight between Michael, and Victor ensued. Julia got caught up in the crossfire, and suffered a terrible fall, and had a miscarriage. Blood tests later proved that Victor was in fact the father. Julia and Michael left town.

Mamie Johnson - Long time maid of the Abbott family. The role was originated in 1980 by Marguerite Ray, who was replaced in 1990 by Veronica Redd (Redd departed the series in 1995 and returned from 1999 to 2004).The Abbott children were mostly raised by long time maid Mamie whom they thought of as their mother.

No.1.Fan The Fosters and The Brooks 19 Friday, 2:40 AM EST by WOF7583

The Fosters were a struggling family but honest (even Jill, in the beginning) There was Snapper, the doctor, Greg the lawyer and Jill. the assistant to Mrs. Chancellor. The Brooks family, they were like the Abbotts. They had money. The 4 girls were Leslie, Laurie, Chris and Peggy. Leslie was a pianist married to Lance and Brad (different Brad), she ended up going blind. Her sister Laurie slept with them both. She was a nasty sister. Chris was happlily married to Snapper Foster, (funny can't rememer what his given name was - only remember Snapper). Peggy was the youngest (a red-head) and finally got some show focus years later when she became a flower child with the introduction of new characters Nikki and then of course Paul. Greg Foster, the lawyer became involved with Nikki first before Victor stole her from him. Of course that was after Victor was threw with his wife Julia. She had an affair with Michael the photographer and Victor locked him up in the basement and Paul's new job was to feed him.

The Brooks are no longer on Y & R but one of the original families is still hanging in with Jill and the occasional appearance of her mom, but ahhh, that isn't her mom anymore, is it.

No.1.Fan Jill #1, Brenda Dickson (page: 1 2 3) 47 Nov 8 2009, 11:53 AM EST by Memmory
Thread started: Jan 14 2008, 3:43 PM EST  Watch
Brenda Dickson was the original Jill. She started with the show in 1973. She left to be a mom in 1980 and her role was taken over temporarily by Bond Gideon and then by Deborah Adair until 1983 . They called her the pretty Jill. Deborah left to do Dynasty and Brenda Dickson came back to play Jill until 1987 when she left apparantly due to problems on the set. Jess Walton who played a prostitute on the now cancelled soap Capital, took over the role then. (Note: That is the soap that started the career of Robin Wright)

It was the pretty Jill, Deborah Adair who married John Abbott and then had the affair with Jack. The blackmail and aftermath was handled by Brenda Dickson. It wasn't the same. Although everyone says they love the original Jill, I like the Jill's for what they portrayed during the characters growth. Brenda Dickson played a great struggling, betrayed Jill but Deborah Adair gave her some class and when Brenda reprised the role it wasn't the same. Jess Walton gave her class again.

jarbeek Genoa City's original name 15 Mar 15 2008, 2:11 AM EDT by Mynxlass

I remember when Genoa City was called "General City." It was probably too vague and hokey, so the writers changed it to "Genoa City" after a while.

Does anyone remember the name of the wonderful actress that was the original Nikki Reed?
