The Fosters and The Brooks

The Fosters were a struggling family but honest (even Jill, in the beginning) There was Snapper, the doctor, Greg the lawyer and Jill. the assistant to Mrs. Chancellor. The Brooks family, they were like the Abbotts. They had money. The 4 girls were Leslie, Laurie, Chris and Peggy. Leslie was a pianist married to Lance and Brad (different Brad), she ended up going blind. Her sister Laurie slept with them both. She was a nasty sister. Chris was happlily married to Snapper Foster, (funny can't rememer what his given name was - only remember Snapper). Peggy was the youngest (a red-head) and finally got some show focus years later when she became a flower child with the introduction of new characters Nikki and then of course Paul. Greg Foster, the lawyer became involved with Nikki first before Victor stole her from him. Of course that was after Victor was threw with his wife Julia. She had an affair with Michael the photographer and Victor locked him up in the basement and Paul's new job was to feed him.

The Brooks are no longer on Y & R but one of the original families is still hanging in with Jill and the occasional appearance of her mom, but ahhh, that isn't her mom anymore, is it.

Does anyone remember if Snapper # 2 was David Hasselhoff,or was he the only Snapper. I think Lance was played by John McCook
that is now Eric Forrester on Bold & Beautiful. One of the Foster's Greg(I think) was played by Wings Houser. This is all from memory, but I am "old" and could be wrong. Please advise.
I also remember the original JILL, (Brenda Dickson) don't know whatever happened to her,and I liked her better than the Jill we have now.

I think David Hasselhoff Should think about reprising the role it would be good for the show and for Hasselhoff (His carrier is slumped since he divorced).

I remember Brenda Dickson Damn she is a nice looking woman!

The actor who played the first Snapper was "William Grey Espy." David Hasselhof took over after Espy left.

You are absolutely right! The actress that played Leslie Brooks played a villian on Dragnet and was hilarious! The original Jill WAS Brenda Dickson and was bitter about being fired from the show, as she felt that she created the complicated character of Jill Foster. She was beautiful, stylish and a great actress. She got kudos from the viewers and critics. I never understoood why she was fired, but she claims that the producers went out of their way to destroy her acting career. She moved to Hawaii and created a web page, in which she models clothes and gives beauty tips. It is a shame that her acting talent is not being utilized.

I wonder would any of the Brooks or Fosters consider another reunion. These families cannot be forgotten. Great storylines back then. 2  out of 2 found this valuable. Do you?

Maybe with new writers, Brenda Dickson could be used in Mrs. C.'s book. I would love to see some of the Mrs. C, Jill and Mr.C. flashbacks. They can only be shown with B.D. Now this would be a treat and also a way for the new viewers to get caught up and know the real history behind this #1 day time soap. 2  out of 2 found this valuable. Do you?

I am not certain, but I believe Snapper's real name on the show was William.

Victor did not steal Nikki away from Greg, Greg dumped long before she set eyes on Victor. She also had a husband in between Greg and Vic, Kevin Bancroft who should have been Victoria's father because Vic had a vascetomy. She always married Tony DeSalvio but he was killed on their wedding day.

I always hated the Vic/Nikki s/l because it did not make sense for someone as possessive as Vic was about his wife, Julia, to marry a woman as Nikki.

They should have left Elizabeth 's Jill mother. I remember when Elizabeth used to always talk about the days when JIll was born and now all of a sudden that it is not true? That simply does not make any sense.

You are right that Lance was played by John McCook who is now Eric Forrester on the B/B. A lot of the Y/R cast went to the B/B. Lance was also played by Dennis Cole.

I cannot recall another Snapper because I did not start watching the Y/R regularly until April '79 and he was the only Snapper on from that time on.

I also remember the other Jills. They werre Brenda Dickerson, Debra Adair, and Bond Gedeon for a little while.

What about the Williams' family? They were once a major part of the show before the Abbott/Newman families. Do you find this valuable?

Yes, David Hasselhoff played Dr .William "Snapper" Foster, Jr #2 for 6 years beginning in 1975. The #1 actor only played the roll for 4 months. David's handsome looks and his curly hair won him the "stud" roll. He then began "Knight Rider." Bill Bell had an eye for good looking men women loved to look at. They made the roles their own.

John McCook played the handsome Lance Prentiss on Y&R from 1975-1980, when he went to B&B a roll Bill Bell wrote for him. He has been there from 1980 to now. He owes his career to Bill Bell.

I also remember when Greg became involved with Gwen but she never told him she was a Nun. Chris Brooks being raped by Ron was also another absorbing story. Then years later, Peggy was raped by the same man. Do you find this valuable?

The writters really screwed up with Jill birth story..It just doesn't fit. But the storylines of the last couple years are really bad. All we can hope for is new writters.

They really need to get Brenda Dickson back as Jill. She is and was a fantastic actress. The story on Y&R would be so much better with Brenda Dickson. Do you find this valuable?
