You keep Vail Bloom, BLAH.Michael Muhney, simply stated SUCKS! If you got rid of Vail Bloom, Michael Muhney, Stacy Haiduk, Clemintine Ford, Tom Beirdz, Yanni Gelman, Haley Erin, Vansa Morano, Tonya Lee Williams you'd save HEAPS & you'd be weeding out the weak characters who's ability to act in comparison to those people I will list below, would save you a bundle! Ted Shackleford's character is a bumbling idiot & I generally pay no attention when he comes on screen. Patty Weaver is old news and serves no purpose any longer. Sean Kannan has served his purpose & should be cut loose. I did not realy enjoy him on Y&R nor B&B.

So you let the two backbones of the show go? Nikki 's character is also written off after all the crap dished out about her coming back?? I'm done! After being a loyal fan for 30 years, I am disgusted as the suits dessimate the cast and ruin the show.
I humbly apologize to the other fine actors on Y&R, but I will no longer be watching. Thank you Eric Braden and Melody Thomas Scott for all the years of wonderful entertainment.

The same goes to Jeanne Cooper, Peter Bergman, Christian La Blance, Eileen Davidson, Kristoff St John, Christel Kahlil, Beth Maitland, Tracey Bregman, Kate Linder, Josh Morrow, Sharon Case, Ameile Henile & husband Thad Luckinbill, Michael Graziadei, Michelle Stafford, Adreine Franz, Doug Davidson, Judith Chapman, Greg Rickhaart, Emily O'Brien, Bryton Ford, Elizabeth Hendrickson, Billy Miller, Daniel Goddard, and Tricia Cast, Beau Kazier & Patty Weaver who over the years have also wonderfully entertained us...

I also think that the fans of Eric Braeden & Melody Thomas Scott should contact the advertisers and sponsors of the show and tell them we will boycott their products. It is time to send a message to the executives of Y&R, that we the fans are fed up and will no longer support the show or their advertisers!

you're obviously not alone in your opinions but there's a few of us (in the minority i realize, at least on the websites) who feel that the show has been better than ever in the last year and that no one or two characters make the show. it's an ensemble. there is one s/l i don't care for but the rest of the writing, directing, photography, acting is brilliant. e.r. survived many years after george clooney left and c.s.i. is doing just fine after william peterson (grissom) left and i believe that the y&r will go on when some of the long-standing main characters eventually leave. of course, i will miss them and i thank them for their fine acting and loyalty and wish them the best. however, i will not feel sorry for them or boycott the show because their salaries have been cut. 0  out of 1 found this valuable. I think the manner in which Eric Braden was informed of the administrative decisions is uncontionable! That is no way to treat a vetran actor of the show, who has for years contributed to their sucess and number 1 standing. I do not think that the writing has been as good as in the past and bringing on actors of leser quality than what has happened in the past is a sad thing to witness. But, I suppose you get what you pay for.

I disagree about CSI. I think the show has become weak and lost alot of it's punch. As for ER, it dragged on for many years that it should not have. Geo Clooney's departure was written on the wall from the onset. It was clear he had bigger things in mind from season 1. I think the quality and strength of Y&R has been declining for some time and they are strugling to maintain their number 1 position. It is only a matter of time before they slide down the ranks and with this decision, will lose alot of viewers. All good things come to an end , yes, and they also change, but this was rude and totaly uncalled for. Unacceptable!

i respect your opinion and like i say, you're not alone. we can agree to disagree. as for e.r., that was my favourite show right up to the end and i'm still lovin' c.s.i. i'm not alone there in the c.s.i. wiki...lol! as for the actors, their contracts are their business and when you look around this continent.........................

Melody and Eric will cause the show to shut down, you are the minority, therefore the show will NOT GO ON> Nikki and Victor are the backbone of this show for 30 years and have been loyal and it's time their employer acknowledged that and it's their turn to be loyal to them.

Does this not remind us of Employers today, no loyalty to families, just all about the Bottom Line Profit?

There's not one actor or actress on Y&R that can command the attention of 30 year viewers so they should be prepared to cancel the show

Normally I would tend to agree completely that no one is irreplaceable, however for the first time in my life these 2 folks are. Never thought I would say that about anyone not even myself

But it's true.
